About Me

Oh, where to start? I write romantic comedy, romantic suspense and women's fiction novels, novellas and short stories. I'm an Amazon bestseller and, due to the number of readers enjoying my books, a KDP All Star for some time now. I'm very proud of that and I owe it all to you - my readers. I'm a Full Member of The Society of Authors, a Professional Member of ALLi (Alliance of Independent Authors) and a (PAN) Member of the RWA (Romance Writers of America.) I'm also a member of NINC (novelists inc.) but to be honest, earning a good living as a full-time writer is my proudest achievement. That alone is every writer's dream. If you want to keep up-to-date with my writing-life and my books, follow this link and 'like' my Facebook Author page.

My paperbacks are available either on Amazon or by order at all good book shops but at present my eBooks are only available on Amazon. They will soon be available on all eBook platforms.

I've always written for pleasure but my career path took me in a very different direction - until I became ill and had to reconsider my future. Life's like that isn't it? I moved back from London to my home town of Hastings and, a few years ago, began to take my writing seriously.

To see what I'm currently working on, pop over to my work in progress page where you'll find details of my upcoming books. I love writing, I write quickly and I write full-time, so I'm always working on at least two books. My personal life does suffer though. One of my friends said recently that when I do finally 'pop my clogs' she'll make sure my headstone reads: 'Let me finish writing this chapter and I'll be with you.' Laughing

OK, now let's get personal. I grew up in Hastings, East Sussex, before moving to London to pursue a career (Law and Banking - please don't hate me!) I'm older than I look, thanks to good genes (and possibly a small fortune spent on so-called 'beauty' products...although I'm still waiting for the 'beauty' part to kick-in.) I love to laugh and I have a rather odd sense of humour. I'm 153 cms tall, but being short isn't such a bad thing. It means I have a valid reason to ask (good-looking) men to get things for me from the high shelves in the supermarkets. Besides, good things come in small packages, right? I have two 'rescue' cats, Beatrix (9) and Portia (8) and they love attention, so I spend an inordinate amount of time playing with/stroking/feeding/watching them. They are constantly strolling across my desk and sitting on my keyboard or my arm. Which is why I never get as much writing done as I'd like. And yes, Portia only has one ear. She had to have one removed due to skin cancer, but it doesn't seem to bother her and I think she's gorgeous - don't you?

When I'm not writing, I'm swimming, or pottering in the garden; daydreaming, or chatting/drinking copious amounts of wine with my friends; watching the heavens, or reading - but not all at the same time, obviously.

I love travelling - and skiing - but due to ill health I haven't done either for a while. That's something I'm determined to change, especially as I have a Big Birthday coming up in 2018! There will be photos. Lots and lots of them.

I enjoy cooking and generally messing about in the kitchen, especially at Christmas. I absolutely adore Christmas. I'm also a huge fan of snow. Yep. I love the stuff. I drink too much wine (usually whilst messing about in the kitchen...or watching skiing on TV) and I eat too much chocolate - but who doesn't?

I'm an avid DVD watcher. I do go to the cinema but I prefer to watch films at home with friends... and a glass of wine. Hmm. I'd better take up jogging!

My favourite films? Too many to name, but needless to say, I love romantic comedies. I also enjoy action films, thrillers and any film involving Christmas - so The Long Kiss Goodnight is a particular favourite. I've had a crush on John Cusack for years and I'd be more than happy for Ryan Gosling or Aidan Turner to star in a film adaptation of any of my books.... Please!

Obviously I love books, and I read anything from murder to romance; fact to fiction. Several of my friends are authors and I buy their books the moment they come out.

My favourite poems are: 'The Haystack in the Floods' by William Morris; a wonderfully tragic tale, and 'Invictus' by William Ernest Henley. For many years I've had a couple of passages from Invictus pinned up beside my desk, the paper now yellowing from age and the lines beginning to fade, but I find it so inspiring.

I enjoy taking photos (although I don't pretend to be any good at it) and I'm having art lessons. Take a look at some of my photos and drawings on Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram. There are also photos on my blog posts (news and views) so do take a look at those if you have some free time.

Well that's enough about me but if you want to get in touch, please do, by clicking on my contact page and sending me an email or by following these links to my Facebook Author Page, Facebook (personal page) and Twitter.
